Day 1: Lake Nabugabo

Pick you up at your city hotel and depart for Lake Nabugabo situated next to Lake Victoria and the area was chosen as a Ramsar Site (protected area) for its importance for the people and animals. Lake Nabugabo is a satellite lake of Lake Victoria, only about 4 km away from its shores.

Lake Nabugabo has a unique biodiversity with almost 300 plant species have been recorded, the catchment area is home to two endemic flowering plants not found elsewhere, and 14 species in Uganda are known only in this area. The most striking character of the rare Nabugabo plants is the relative dominance of carnivorous plants.

Indigenous fish (Cichlidae) is recorded, three other species were introduced into the lake in the 1950s, namely Oreochromis niloticus, O. leucosticus, and Tilapia zillii. The fauna ecosystem consists of a wide variety of key animal communities, Hippopotamus and Sitatunga, among the bird's King Fisher and Crested Crane are found.

Day 2 & 3: Bwindi Forest National Reserve

Early morning breakfast is served, depart early via Mbarara to Bwindi Forest Reserve, arriving in the late afternoon for lunch and check-in. The next day depart for Gorilla tracking. Bwindi is a habitat to more than half the world’s population of Mountain Gorillas. actually, there are over 300 mountain gorillas living here. The trek takes between 1 – 8 hours before you spot one family and close to one hour of watching after spotting.

Day 4 & 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park

After morning breakfast is served, we will drive to Ishasha River and Queen Elizabeth National Park. This area is famous for its tree-climbing lion but other games will be seen.

The next day will drive to the north again to the Kazinga Channel and Mweiya Lodge. We will spend two nights here and take the boat trip on the channel to view the splendid birdlife and abundant hippo. From here the Ruwenzori Mountains can be seen on clear days.

Day 6 & 7: Kibale Forest National Park

Kibale National Park contains one of the loveliest and most varied tracts of tropical forest in Uganda. Forest cover, interspersed with patches of grassland and swamp, dominates the northern and central parts of the park on an elevated plateau. Kibale is famously known for Chimpanzee tracking.

The next day you will be allocated to a chimpanzee community and your ranger guide will lead you on the trek in search of this great ape. Watch the chimpanzees in their natural habitat, as they swing from the branches in the canopy high above the forest floor, feed, play, and rest.

In the afternoon, explore the Bigodi village. You have the opportunity to visit a swamp with abundant butterflies, plants, animals, and spectacular birds like Great Blue Turaco and will be of great interest to birders. After this experience, you will take a village walk that will lead you to the Coffee experience, banana beer making, busked making, and traditional healer.

Day 8 & 9: Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Murchison Falls National Park which will take around 7/8 hours of drive, Head straight to tour the top and bottom of majestic falls, where the Nile crashes through a 7 meters gorge to the falls 45 meters. Numerous scenic viewpoints are a photographers’ delight, The most impressive view of the foaming waters rushing into the gorge with a deafening roar.

The next day will set off at 6:30 am to cross to the northern bank of the river Nile head for a sunrise game drive in the Nyamsika plateau to see the Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda kob, hartebeest, and waterbucks. You may also spot oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, shy sitatunga, bush duiker, warthog, and bush pig plus large carnivores including lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas.

Chimpanzees and olive baboons head the list of six species of primates found in the park. Crocodiles and hippos will be seen along the banks of the Nile. Some of the more common birds that can be seen include goliath heron, Egyptian geese, pelican, bee-eaters, kingfishers, hornbill, cormorant, saddle-bill stork, and the rare shoebill stork.

You will return to your lodge for a late breakfast and some relaxation before setting off in the afternoon for a boat cruise on the placid Victoria Nile, upstream, to the base of the falls. En route, you will see hippos, crocodiles, waterbuck, and a wide variety of birds including the unusual shoebill stork. The boat stops just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron” for pictures to be taken of the photogenic and majestic Murchison Falls.

Day 10 - Murchison Falls to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary (Rhino Tracking) to Kampala

After early morning breakfast, drive to the top of Falls and then depart with great memories of the moments spent at Murchison falls, You will be driven to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, after a briefing from the ranger you trek the sanctuary for close to two hours. With Lunch en-route, you will be transferred back to Kampala (or Entebbe).
